Ambulatory Detoxification Services

AMBULATORY DETOXIFICATION

Ambulatory Detoxification is a safe withdrawal from drugs in an outpatient setting. Hill Country Community MHMR Center contracts with the Department of State Health Services in order to be a provider of ambulatory detoxification which is a 3 to 7 day service for adults (male/female) in need of detoxification from drugs of dependence. This substance abuse detoxification treatment program is designed for adults who do not require the more structured environment of residential treatment to maintain sobriety.

Adult ambulatory detoxification substance abuse services are designed:

  • To enable the individual physically dependent upon drugs to undergo withdrawal safely and comfortably.
  • To provide a safe environment in which the intoxicated individual or individual in withdraw may be controlled.
  • To increase access and choice for individuals needing detoxification from drugs of dependence.
  • To identify co-occurring medical problems and screen for co-occurring psychiatric problems.
  • To provide a withdrawal that is humane and that protects the individual’s dignity.
  • To prepare and engage the individual for ongoing treatment of his or her dependence.

Hill Country Community MHMR Center is licensed with the Texas Department of State Health Services as a provider of Ambulatory Detoxification Substance Abuse Treatment Services. Services are currently available in Kerrville.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Access to services 7 days a week
  • Access to 24-hour Medical Staff
  • Detoxification from drugs of dependence
  • Medical/Physical Assessment (Medical Physician authorizes all admissions and conducts face-to-face examination)
  • Introduction to Substance Abuse Treatment
  • Referrals to Continuum of Care
  • Financial Assessment determines individual’s ability to pay in accordance with a sliding fee scale

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  • Adult (male or female)
  • Medically Stable
  • Primary Diagnosis of Substance Abuse Withdrawal
