Hill Country Community MHMR Center provides services in nineteen counties in Central Texas Hill Country with a population of 420,000 residents. The Center has ten (10) Mental Health Centers, nine (9) Mental Retardation Centers, and ten (10) Early Childhood Intervention Centers providing services to people in the service area. Services are provided to more than 3,000 consumers with mental illness, mental retardation, and developmental delays. HCCMHMRC is a community based, publicly funded, not-for-profit organization. The Executive Administrative Office is located in Kerrville.

EMPLOYMENT NOTICES - Pre-employment Testing

An applicant must pass all required pre-employment tests before beginning employment with HCCMHMRC.

  • Criminal History Clearance Check related to any sexual offenses, drug related offenses, or any crime involving personal injury or threat to another person – name check or FBI fingerprint check depending on where the applicant has resided for the last two years.
  • Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General – for purposes related to fraud. Any person with a conviction for fraud will not be considered.
  • Controlled Substance Test – test to check for the presence of marijuana, opiates, phencyclidine, amphetamines, and cocaine.
  • Driving Record - When a conditional offer of employment is made the applicant is responsible for obtaining, at their own expense, a Type 2, Department of  Public Safety driving record.  This is a 3-year record and is  required prior to beginning employment date.  Records must be requested at www.txdps.state.tx.us.  Any person with 4 or more driving points on their record will not be considered for employment.

All applicants hired are required to attend and pass Competency Based Training and New Employee Orientation prior to reporting to their regular workstation.
